چکیده

Background: Cancer Antigen-125 (CA-125) was first identified as an ovary-specific tumor indicator but subsequently shown that inflammation exists even in the absence of polymorphism leads to this marker rise. Multiple locations tuberculosis (TB) produce increase serum antigen levels. This research objects estimate diagnostic value CA-125 and establish cut-off value, distinguishing tuberculous from malignant pleural effusion.
Methods: prospective analytic case control study involved 90 subjects above 18 years old with a confirmed diagnosis effusion (TPE), (MPE) parapneumonic (PPE). Subjects were equally allocated into 3 groups: group I "Tuberculous": TPE, II "Malignant": MPE III "Control": PPE.
Results: There positive significant correlation among fluid (group I) II).
Conclusions: For reliable detection cause, might be included workup.

Pleural MAC30 as a prognostic marker in NSCLC with malignant pleural effusion

Over-expressed meningioma-associate protein (MAC30) in tissues was associated with malignant tumor differentiation, metastasis and poor prognosis. However, the attention of MAC30 in pleural effusion from lung tumor is insufficient. Our retrospective study was prepared to explore the clinical values on diagnosis and prognosis of MAC30 from malignant pleural effusion (MPE) in non-small cell lung ...

Diagnostic Value Of Adenosine Deaminase in Tuberculous and Malignant Pleural Effusion

Introduction: Tuberculous pleural effusion (TPE) is a common problem for differential diagnosis from malignant effusion (MPE) in epidemic areas of tuberculosis (TB). Prediction based on adenosine deaminase (ADA) is dependent on age as well as the tuberculosis incidence. Aim of the work: to estimate the value of cutoff point of ADA in MPE and TPE & to evaluate its role in differential diagnosis ...

Superoxide dismutase 2 as a marker to differentiate tuberculous pleural effusions from malignant pleural effusions

OBJECTIVES Our previous study demonstrated that superoxide dismutase levels were higher in tuberculous pleural effusions than in malignant pleural effusions, but that this difference could not be used to discriminate between the two. The objective of the present study was to investigate the levels of superoxide dismutase 2 in pleural effusions and to evaluate the diagnostic significance of pleu...
